About PT. Karya Agro JayaLestari A family spice business from North Sumatra

We are a family-owned exporter in Medan, supplying Kerinci cassia cinnamon and Indonesian spices to buyers abroad. The family began trading spices in 2000 and established the company under its current name in 2019.

Our story

Rooted in Indonesia’s spice trade

For centuries, traders sailed to the islands that are now Indonesia for cloves and nutmeg from Maluku, and pepper and camphor from Sumatra. Several of those spices are still the ones we ship today.

01

Where we come from

Our family started trading spices in Medan in 2000. In 2019 we established the business as PT. Karya Agro JayaLestari, the company that handles our exports today.

02

How we work

The business grew out of long-standing relationships with cassia growers in the Kerinci highlands, which began before the company was formally established. We still handle sourcing, grading and export documents ourselves, so the people who check your lot are the same people you deal with on price and shipping.

03

Where we ship today

We export cassia cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, mace and white cardamom to buyers in more than 25 countries. Each shipment is graded by hand against a written specification and documented before loading.

Every lot of cassia we sell is graded by our own team, at our own table in Medan.
Mission

A known team behind every shipment

To export Indonesian spices to a documented quality standard, and to give every buyer a clear, direct answer to any question about their lot.

Vision

A dependable source of Indonesian cassia and spices

To be a supplier that international buyers return to for consistent quality, supported by clear records for every shipment.

Working with us

What to expect from a family exporter

01

Quality checks

We test each lot for moisture when it arrives, grade it, and check it against your specification again before packing.

02

Direct communication

You deal with the family and the team who source and grade your order, in English or Indonesian, not with a broker.

03

Long-term growers

We buy from Kerinci smallholders we have worked with for years rather than from the spot market, which helps keep quality consistent between seasons.

04

Documents you can verify

We list only the certifications and registrations we hold, and we can send copies before you place an order.
