Our export process Land to Hand: every quality check, farm to buyer

Eight checkpoints between a Kerinci hillside and your warehouse door. Scroll to walk through each one.

01 / 08 · SOURCING

The Kerinci highlands

Our cassia (Cinnamomum burmannii) comes from smallholder farms on the volcanic slopes around Kerinci, Jambi. The altitude, rainfall and soil there give bark a higher and more consistent oil content than bark grown in the lowlands. We buy from growers we’ve dealt with over several seasons, and we don’t buy on the spot market.

02 / 08 · HARVEST

Hand-stripped bark

Farmers strip the bark by hand, a skill passed down on the farm, and only from trees old enough to give thick quills with a high oil content. Timing matters. Bark stripped in the wrong season curls thin and grades lower.

03 / 08 · FIELD SORTING

First sort, at the source

Bark gets a rough sort in the field before it reaches our warehouse. Broken pieces, quills and off-grade material are separated early, so what arrives in Medan is already close to spec.

04 / 08 · INTAKE & LAB CHECK

Moisture and defect testing

Every incoming lot is tested for moisture with a calibrated meter and checked by eye for mould, insect damage and foreign matter before we accept it into inventory. Lots outside spec are rejected here, before they can reach a buyer.

05 / 08 · GRADING & PACKING

Graded to buyer specification

Sticks are sorted by length and thickness into export grades (AA, A, broken cuts) and packed to your specification for bag size, net weight and labeling. The packing list matches the physical carton count exactly.

06 / 08 · CERTIFICATION

Tested and documented

Our facility and process are covered by ISO 22000, HACCP, USFDA registration and Halal Indonesia certification. Each shipment also gets its own certificate of analysis, phytosanitary certificate and certificate of origin, in a form your customs broker will accept.

07 / 08 · BELAWAN BICT

Loaded at the port that built this trade

We ship out of Belawan International Container Terminal, North Sumatra’s main deep-water port. Regional commodities have been shipped from this stretch of coast to the rest of the world for well over a century.

08 / 08 · VESSEL TO BUYER

Whether the container is going to Rotterdam, Mersin, New York or Shanghai, we track it from Belawan and stay reachable after delivery. If you have a quality claim after arrival, you’ll get a straight answer from us.
